For weeks I we as miserable because of this awful metallic burning taste in my mouth that didn't go away no matter what I did. Years ago I tried using an electric toothbrush. so it's not an accurate comparison with brush heads. that's not the case.Īll of your other cases have their own caveats for why it makes sense to follow recommendations. like if somehow i brush and then rub my teeth with my tongue and it doesnt feel super smooth, then i might think the bristles aren't working. i don't leave the brush head because i'm cheap, i just find that it's fine. you can use some common sense and a bit of analysis. That's cool and all but guess what? it's possible to know even if you are not a professional. however, i do floss after every meal so that might be the reason why my teeth are in great condition. i also brush super fast too, i don't want to brush too long or hit the gums too hard because it seems to make it recede. I know you have your own experiences but it actually doesnt happen to me. Guess what? I assume she might know what she is talking about and do exactly that. My primary care doctor suggests I see her once a year. Putting a new brush head on is cheaper than paying me to do it.įWIW, I also change the filter in my HVAC system at the recommended time, same thing with oil in my car. The ones who change manual toothbrushes every 6 months or mechanical heads once a year are the ones who come in with brownish stains and soft tissues that bleed from the slightest touch. Is it possible they will last longer than 4 months? probably. which is what the manufacturer recommends. Not more times per day but a few minutes each time I do it.Īnyway, i tell my patients 'every two months' because most will forget. But I spend quite a bit of time when brushing my teeth. My bristles look worn out after 2 months. The mods are somewhat flexible with the rules as long as the OP explains in the comments.
